Jaye Marie Rome

Jaye Marie Rome is a native of New Jersey, where she lives with her husband, two children, and two German shepherd dogs.  Jaye has always been an avid reader. At the age of nine, she spent her spring break wrapped up in a blanket on a lawn chair, reading Little Women.  Soon after, she discovered romance novels, and she devoured every Harlequin book she could get her hands on. How she anticipated that first kiss between the tall, dark, handsome and brooding hero and the untouched ingenue!

Her love of reading, art and art history, ancient civilization, and all things Italian led Jaye to pursue writing.  Extensive European and North American travel provide intoxicating settings for her stories, which often have artistic heroines with dramatic personalities.

Since graduating from The University of Dallas in Irving, Texas, the road to Jaye’s current career has taken many a turn. She has worked for off-Broadway and regional theatres including The Second Stage, Playwrights Horizons, and The Paper Mill Playhouse; co-founded a semi-professional theatre company in her hometown, where she has held almost every Board position including President, as well as acting, producing, stage managing and directing; worked in tv and radio advertising at Young & Rubicam, Inc.; and held various administrative positions in business-to-business advertising and at IBM.

Jaye is a published dog writer, a graduate of The Institute of Children’s Literature, and a member of Romance Writers of America and New Jersey Romance Writers.

In her spare time, when she is not driving Mom’s Taxi, Jaye loves to garden and cook. She volunteers with Rogers’ Rescues, an all-breed dog rescue in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.  For more info on Rogers’ Rescues, please visit http://www.rogersrescues.com.
